But without a new contract, Reddick hasn’t been at the Jets’ Organized Team Activities. Reddick hasn’t attended any of the offseason work that was open to the media. Reddick hasn’t said his absence is contract related, but there’s speculation that he wants a new deal. OTAs are voluntary, but most players attend. When the Jets acquired Reddick, they acquired the final year of the three-year contract he signed with the Eagles in 2022. That contract calls for Reddick to get paid $15 million this season. None of that money is guaranteed, so Reddick certainly wouldn’t want to risk doing anything that would lead the Jets to cut him, although that seems unlikely.

ESPN reports New York Giants TE Darren Waller is likely to make a decision by next week's mandatory minicamp about his playing future, and people in and around the team expect that he's going to retire, multiple sources said. Those close to him believe he's leaning in that direction. Waller, 31, said during an Instagram Live on Friday that a decision was coming very soon. He has been contemplating retirement since the end of last season and hasn't attended any of the team's voluntary offseason workouts this spring. Mandatory minicamp for the Giants is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.

Ojabo suffered the injury last September and had season-ending surgery in November, so it’s no surprise that he has not been cleared for football activities at this point. NBC Sports reports attorney Tony Buzbee said Tuesday that an effort was made to resolve the claims made against former Jaguars PK Brandon McManus (WAS) before the lawsuit was initiated last Friday. McManus was contacted last week, with a letter that communicated the claims made by two Atlas Air flight attendants and that invited McManus to participate in mediation, which is a non-binding effort to resolve disputes. No monetary amount was mentioned in the effort to settle the case before trial. McManus, through his lawyer, pointed out perceived flaws in the facts and asked for a monetary demand with the goal of potentially negotiating a compromise. The plaintiffs instead filed suit on Friday. McManus has denied wrongdoing. His attorney called the claims “absolutely fictitious” and called McManus the victim of “extortion.”

NBC Sports reports Kansas City Chiefs DT Isaiah Buggs has been accused of animal cruelty after two neglected dogs were found on a property Buggs had rented. Civil documents filed in Tuscaloosa County District Court say the Tuscaloosa Police Department received a report of two dogs abandoned at the property, according to Tuscaloosa Patch. When police and animal control arrived, they found a pit bull on the screened-in back porch surrounded in feces, with no access to food or water, and a Rottweiler mix locked in a metal cage in direct sunlight with no access to food or water. Both dogs were described as severely “malnourished, emaciated and neglected.” The pit bull has been euthanized. The report says two misdemeanor warrants have been obtained for second-degree cruelty to dogs.
