That's the line-up for Cannes 2016, with possibly one or two more missing from the selection. Overall this is an outstanding selection of films this year - a huge amount of extremely talented filmmakers from all over the world presenting their latest work. I've been attending the Cannes Film Festival since 2009, and some years the selection isn't that great. This year seems to be a vintage year with many promising films and even more on the way in the sidebars (Directors' Fortnight, Critics' Week). I'm most looking forward to seeing the new films from Xavier Dolan, Andrea Arnold, Jeff Nichols, Nicolas Winding Refn, and Shane Black. As always - I'm excited to get back to the Croisette and start watching films in hopes that we're all floored by some unforgettable cinema. The Cannes Film Festival runs from May 11th to May 22nd in Cannes, France.
