About the Business
Eberle Winery was voted "Winery of the Year" by Wine Enthusiast! Gary Eberle is known as the "Godfather" of the Paso Robles wine region. He co-founded the AVA, he was the fourth winery established in Paso Robles (now there are more than 200), and was named one of the top 100 influential people in the wine industry. At Eberle we make some of the highest award-winning wines in the country, aged in our underground caves with 90+ Point scores from Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast and International Wine Competitions. We offer complimentary wine tasting and cave tours, and have a Reserve tasting available for a small fee. Visit us daily from 10am-5pm in winter, and 10am-6pm in summer. Plan to attend one of our hosted guest chef winemaker dinners, and our winery is also available for weddings and private events. Wines produced on our estate include Cabernet, Chardonnay, Viognier, Zinfandel, Vintage Port, Barbera, Sangiovese, Rhone Blends and Muscat Canelli.

One of the few wineries in the area that offers complimentary wine tasting and a cave tour. We booked for an afternoon tasting and tour on a Sunday. The winery has its own parking lot but not many spots so get there early or carpool. After checking in, we were quickly brought to our private table for tasting. The staff who served us was Garnet and she was amazing. The pours were generous and she even suggested we try the wines that were on promotion so my husband tasted a total of 7 different wines. He ended up purchasing 2 of the 7 he tasted.
The cave tour was short and sweet. Our tour guide was very informative and she had a good sense of humor which made the tour even more interesting. Everything was clean and tidy and there were even tables in a separate area for you to have picnics with family and friends. If we ever visit Paso Robles again, we will definitely make a trip to this winery.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 13, 2024
LOVED Eberle!!! Where else can you get a high-quality wine tasting and intimate cave tour completely free?!
My mom and I had an early morning reservation at Eberle on a super cold and rainy morning. We were sat outside, but the patio was completely covered and secure. The cave tour was unlike anything else we'd ever seen in Paso, as well as super informative! Our server/tour guide/wine expert Stephanie was incredibly knowledgeable and kind.
Can't recommend Eberle enough to anyone visiting Paso! As this is a free experience, don't forget to tip!!!Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 2, 20241 check-in
We booked a wine tasting for 4 people with a cave tour and it was free!
They have such a beautiful vineyard and plenty of tables out in the back with shade to protect you from the rain.
The service is great and the cave tour is amazing. We ended up getting two bottles of wine because it was that good. We also got a charcuterie board for 4 people.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - 698213May 27, 20241 check-in
Very chill ambiance, probably best if you make a reservation, view is pretty no direct vineyard access but the views are phenomenal from
The patio - enjoyed a white wineHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 17, 2024
We very much enjoyed our wine tasting here. Reserved a 90 min vineyard deck tasting with the caves tour. Stephanie was our wine educator and she is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She shared both personal stories and history about the vineyard. The cave tour was unique and we liked that they showed the VIP room and private party options.
I definitely recommend to add this as a stop on your wine tasting journey. It is definitely more affordable and had a casual yet sophisticated vibe.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - 1617312971Dec 24, 2023Updated review
We came back. And we would come back again and again.
If you are looking for an amazing Cabernet, Zinfandel, red blended, rosé You really must try this winery and take the cave tour. we picked up our case and we are ready for Christmas and the new year.
Gary Eberle was sitting by the fireplace with his two standard poodles right after their groom, and was enjoying a delicious red.
Everyone makes you feel like family . It did not surprise us that it was pouring down rain yet the wine tasting room was completely full...
We really recommend you go and visit and taste . The tastings are always free as are all of the smiles that you receive when you walk in the door..Helpful 6Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 0Sep 27, 2023Previous reviewThe heartwarming history on this winery owned by Gary Eberle
Is really quite some thing . There's so much to say, but instead., I will recommend that you go and enjoy this fabulous winery... We arrived at 1:30 and we bellied up to the wine bar. We were met by Stephanie, who explained that the tastings are free and that she hopes that we enjoy them. Well, we did. and we ended up staying almost 2 hours, chatting and drinking...
So much so that we bought pretty much one of each , actually, I think two roses.
They are a very intimate winery, steeped in rich flavors. We were told that the proximity to where the grapes are harvested, had a perfect amount of heat and cool breezes in the evening, which made for excellent grapes.
I'm going to give this winery six stars on my list . Please go and enjoy yourself and say hi to Gary who will probably be sitting out front enjoying a rich delicious Cabernet. - Jan 13, 2024
Great stop to check out the cave tour and one of the only spots still free for tasting.
Wish we could have tasted their reserve but they were sold out for the day. They also have a tasting in the caves for $50.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 1, 2023
On our roadtripping California trip, we were on our way from Morro Bay to Monterey and wanted a stop in between. We discovered Eberle Winery online and quickly made our reservation for our complimentary! wine tasting + tour the next morning.
We loved driving into the beautiful town, and when we arrived at Eberle, we were so happy with how lovely it was. We were promptly seated on the outside patio as soon as we checked in inside, and we were quickly greeted by our host. We enjoyed the vineyard view on the beautiful sunny afternoon while we waited just a few minutes for the others on our tour to arrive. Shoutout to Eberle for having the outside heaters turned on for the crisp morning weather; it was so nice to enjoy the outside without freezing!
We started our tour where our guide explained the grape process; they were actually working so we got to see it live in action. We then were walked downstairs to the "caves". It was so interesting to learn about their process here and how they started it all. I loved being in the caves, it was fun!
Then we went back up to the patio to begin our tasting. We got to try five of their wines. The sommelier did an amazing job giving us an explanation of each wine. They were all fantastic! My personal favorite was the Sangiovese; we couldn't buy a bottle then due to our travels, but she showed us where we can get it back home in Miami, and we definitely will be buying it!
Also, there are winery dogs. They roam around and come up to greet you. They are poodles. They are absolutely adorable and so sweet. That was an amazing surprise to make the experience even greater than it already was.
The fact that Eberle is so kind as to have tours and tasting, free of cost, is absolutely amazing. Our experience was incredible, very memorable; highly recommend it to everyone!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jan 21, 2024
Our Eberle ambassador, Madi, was great! She was our tour guide through the caves and poured wine for our tasting. She was funny, knowledgeable, and quite helpful. The tour in the caves was cool and much faster than I thought, which is fine, as there was only so much to see, to be honest. Seems like a great place to have an event, and they do reserve tastings down there, too.
We very much appreciated that she allowed us to tailor our tasting to all reds, rather than a combo of red and white. I'm still so surprised that they don't charge for their tastings, but they definitely had volume going on both inside and on the expansive outdoor patio. I love that their zin is peppery and dry instead of jammy and their syrah was good enough for us to go home with a bottle.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 19, 2023
Always a solid option in Paso. Probably the only place that doesn't charge for wine tasting in all of Paso. That being said, it's VERY popular with a lot of the people being very casual (a bit too casual and rowdy for my tastes).
The wines here are good and fairly reasonably priced for the area.
I've always enjoyed coming to Eberle -- I think they're a great model for having no tasting fees -- which really allows people to taste their wines. Their cabernet sauvignon has always been my favorite. It's classy, albeit a bit pricey $55.
Oh and, you can't beat the view here - a must stop when in Paso. Don't forget to make reservations!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1
